Color Accessibility Checklist
Ensure your color choices are accessible to all users
Contrast Requirements
Normal text (under 18pt) has minimum 4.5:1 contrast ratio
Large text (18pt+ or 14pt bold+) has minimum 3:1 contrast ratio
Interactive components (buttons, inputs) have 3:1 contrast against background
Focus indicators are clearly visible with sufficient contrast
Color Independence
Information is not conveyed by color alone
Error messages include text, not just red highlighting
Success states include text, not just green highlighting
Links are distinguishable by more than color (underline, icon, etc.)
Color Blindness
Design tested with color blindness simulator
Red-green combinations avoided for critical information
Charts and graphs use patterns or labels, not just color
Dark Mode
Dark mode maintains WCAG contrast requirements
Pure black (#000) avoided in dark mode (use #0F0F0F or similar)
Color relationships preserved in both light and dark themes
